Job Description:

Summary:

The Compensation Analyst/Payroll Specialist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: compensation training, compensation analytics and payroll functions. This position will analyze positions, benchmark and make recommendations around compensation, pay grades and comp structures. This person is responsible for managing a portion of generalist duties pertaining to HRIS. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the company.

Duties:

  • Keys all payroll administration prior to process of payroll (approximately 40% of the position).
  • Identifies and implements efficiencies for the payroll process.
  • Develops and enhances HR Metrics, dashboards and reports for distribution to Executive Management.
  • Meets with management to discuss and clarify findings, requests for projects, highlight issues and make recommendations to address issues regarding compensation and correct pay and grade bands.
  • Conducts/reviews all surveys and prepares results analysis.
  • Extracts, synthesizes and analyzes data derived from various systems, including surveys. Use data analysis to identify trends, create and maintain dashboards, design and produce ad hoc reports.
  • Suggests salary bands and pay ranges.
  • Advises, influences and trains business partners in compensation strategy programs.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for all applications used in HR; researches and resolves HRIS issues including CREW.
  • Develops standard ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, scorecards and metrics.
  • Trains/coaches employees on payroll and time clock procedures as needed.
  • Manages onboarding system and new hires’ implementation into Paylocity.
  • Processes terminations in Paylocity.
  • Manages special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties assigned by Management.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products. Expert knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficient in HRIS.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of analytics and compensation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate a high degree of quality and accuracy in work performance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, and make effective presentations.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well on special projects within time sensitive deadlines, and under pressure.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 20 pounds of material, boxes, or sit for long periods of time, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
