Job Description:

Summary:

This position manages projects focused on the implementation of specific initiatives generated by the Business Management teams within the Gorilla Glue Company. These initiatives include product line transitions, expansions, channel updates, new product launches, as well as off shelf executions and promotions. In addition, this role will be tasked with implementing an appropriate tracking or "stage gate" style process to improve communication, efficiency and visibility across all active projects.

Duties:

  • Business Team Initiatives:
    • Represent Operations on the Business team.
    • Lead all projects relating to execution of Business Team initiatives:
      • Take ownership during hand off of initiative from Marketing.
      • Coordinate with necessary stakeholders across Operations department.
      • Prioritize, delegate, and track progress on all project tasks.
      • Analyze issues, resolve conflicts as they arise and elevate to Business Team appropriately.
    • Report out to Business Team and Senior Operations Management on project status (Scorecard).
    • Partner with Brand Managers to ensure successful implementation and launch of projects.
  • Sales Promotion Initiatives (Executions):
    • Coordinate promotional activities with National Account Managers and Senior Sales Management.
    • Interface with S&OP team on planning regarding promotional activities.
    • Prioritize, delegate, and track progress on tasks relating to preparation of promotional display:
      • Engineering, Design, Graphics, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics.
    • Develop report out to Senior Operations and Sales Management on execution calendar status for rolling 12-month view.
  • Implement Process Improvement:
    • Map new, standardized process to be used for Operations Project Management activities.
    • Process to be scalable to match rapid growth (volume and complexity) of business.
    • Coordinate process and achieve buy-in across departments involved in process.
    • Process to include high visibility on status reporting, exception management and scorecards.
    • Drive implementation of new process through support of Senior Operations Management.
  • Other
    • Work across organizational lines to coordinate project activities and share information.
    • Be able to work within all levels of the organization.
    • Use a Continuous Improvement approach to Project Management.
    • Provide clear communications with Operations Department, Sales Department, Marketing Department, Customer Service, and Warehouse.
    • Must be able to multi-task.
    • Demonstrate the ability to collaboratively lead others who do not share same reporting structure.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Business
  • Microsoft Great Plains experience a plus
  • Microsoft Project or similar project management system training required
  • Project Management
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Must possess excellent cross departmental communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment
  • Demonstrate good judgment
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus. Must be mobile and transfer from building to building.
