Summary Description:

The primary function of this position will be to plan and coordinate logistics activities to ensure that on time shipments are met in a compliant and customer centric manner. It is important that this position has the goal of improving logistics efficiency and supporting the manufacturing needs.

Duties:

  • Utilizes FASCOR Warehouse Management System (WMS) to prepare shipments for the warehouse. This includes the ability to troubleshoot issues as they occur.
  • Prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipments based on customer requirements.
  • Works directly with carriers to coordinate all outbound and inbound shipments.
  • Works with multiple internal departments to help ensure production timing is in line with customer timing expectations and carrier pick up scheduling.
  • Works directly with customers as their logistics support contact to coordinate deliveries / queries.
  • Selects carriers for shipments based on rates and customer requirements.
  • Generates BOL, packing slips, and International paperwork (commercial invoices, NAFTA forms, Shippers Letter of
  • Intent (SLI), etc.
  • Coordinates shipments with both carrier and customers to process returns.
  • Acts as point of contact when manager is unavailable or requires assistance.
  • Works on delegated tasks that are assigned by manager.

Experience and Skills:

Education:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years logistics experience, 5 years logistics experience preferred.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Should be goal-oriented, confident, outgoing and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
  • Demonstrates good judgment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine root cause by analysis.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • General understanding and knowledge of the transportation industry.
  • Experience with large retail routing systems is required.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems is required, Fascor experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

 

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push,
  • grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently
  • lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
