Job Description:


The Process Engineer will be tasked with assisting in all new product development projects. This individual’s responsibilities are to create and load all new part numbers into our system. Work closely with our packaging suppliers to offer new package designs and or improvements. Assist with layout concepts, including manpower considerations and time studies. Work jointly with the Continuous Improvement group and other cross departmental groups on processes and training of associates working on new launches.



  • Conduct time and motion studies, and translate results into work combination tables, standard work charts, labor routings, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Developmental manufacturing processes for all new products within the facility. Process scope includes equipment, building fixtures, establishing manual build lines, safety, quality and documentation.
  • Identify manufacturing risks by leading failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)s for all new launches.
  • Travel will be required to suppliers for process validation assessments. This will include scrutinizing process accuracy, repeatability, machine function/performance and many other factors. Results of validation testing will be analyzed and compared to either internal or external standards.
  • Write standard operation procedures (SOP)s.
  • Conduct NIOSH lifting calculations for optimal ergonomic solutions.
  • Planning and develop new manufacturing processes that meet new launch timing.
  • Must be able to manage multiple project schedules.
  • Participate in development and implementation of new products as a liaison to the Engineering, and OP’s team.
  • Troubleshoot with others to solve daily problems.
  • Install and validate equipment and processes on the production floor to improve or reduce cycle times following initial launch criteria.
  • Resolve post launch issues with engineering and production teams.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering; or equivalent education and experience.



  • Demonstrated lean manufacturing experience, project management skills, process and data analysis skills, leadership skills, proven ability as a team player, and ability to motivate others.
  • Candidate must possess ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with a strong attention to detail, ability to identify and creatively resolve issues and risks, problem-solving skills, assertiveness, integrity, innovation and creativity
  • Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills are required as this role interacts with all levels within the organization.
  • Five to seven years of plant manufacturing experience.
  • Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
  • Demonstrate good judgment.
  • Must be able to work independently, demonstrate effective initiative in order to meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with power tools and or machining tools to bring ideas to reality.
  • Communicate by visually mocking up ideas or other means of visual communication.
  • Communicate instructions and or ideas clearly over the phone.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
